The book, Fauquier County, Virginia 1759-1959, by the F. County Bicentennial Committee has some information, in the section on early houses, about "Green Branch" on Route 752 near Goldvein, VA, which apparently was on part of a tract of land taken up by Samuel Earle in a patent dated 22 Oct 1743, on the west side of a branch of Deep Run. In 1786, Bailie Earle sold 30 acres of that land to Joseph Thompson, who apparently built the house.
