We are looking for information about Elizabeth Vanhorn and her husband Thomas Bishop (1807-1874) of Fauquier Co. VA.
Elizabeth Vanhorn was born circa 1805-1810 in VA. We have been unable to determine her parents. She may have been related (sister, mother, aunt, cousin) to Burr Vanhorn who lived nearby but we have been unable to establish a connection. Elizabeth Vanhorn married Thomas Bishop sometime between 14 Jun. 1834 and Oct. 1834, presumably in VA. She is alive in 1880 living with her daughter Annie L. Bishop but cannot be found in the 1900 federal census.
Thomas Bishop was born circa 1807 in Fauquier Co. VA, the son of Daniel Bishop and Nancy Ann Lake. He died circa 1874 in Fauquier Co. VA. Thomas Bishop was a carpenter.
Thomas and Elizabeth Bishop had two children:
1. Hamilton Scott Bishop was born in Aug. 1835 in Fauquier Co. VA. He married Mary Jane Rector, daughter of Henry Rector and Evalina Cockrill, on 5 Jun. 1867 in Fauquier Co. VA.
2. Ann Louise (Annie) Bishop was born in May 1841. She is living in Scott District Fauquier Co. VA in 1900. When did she die and where is she buried?
We would greatly appreciate any information that you can provide about Elizabeth Vanhorn and Thomas Bishop (1807-1874) of Fauquier Co. VA, their ancestors and descendents. Please also provide corrections to any information above that might be inaccurate.
