Any obituary that might have appeared usually gave only the persons names and date of death. The full entry from the Fauquier Co. Death Register indicates that Mary A. Downs died 20 Dec 1876 from heart disease and dropsy at age 55 years. She was born in Pennsylvania and her parent was Marg. Stout. Husband, who was the informant, was Jas. B. Downs.
