Chris, I have a James Haley of Fauquier who married into my Smith line - that's why I was reading your post. I found this in John Alcock's book, Fauquier Families 1759-1799 - it may help or hinder. Harley/Healey, Polly. Minutes Book 11, pg. 69, 1794 - orphan of William; John Deering appointed her guardian; she certified heir-at-law to Daniel Hailey who died in Continental Army and to William, soldier in Continental Army. Minutes Book 13, pg. 402, 1798 - William and Daniel Harley, soldiers in late Continental Army, both dec'd; Polly Harley their heir-at-law ("Hailey in 1794; "Harley" in 1798 - Alcock's note). Here are another couple of entries: Haley, John Jr., Marriage Bond 9/19/1785 bond by James Jett for marriage of John Hailey, a minor, and Peggy Jett. Healey/Haley, Mary (widow of John), Tithables List 1788-1799. Deed Book 11, pg 131, 1792 - lease in Manor of Leeds for lives of her and sons Richard and Abner, 200 a. on Rattlesnake Mtn..
