I am related through the McConchie's they married into my grandmother's "Humphrey" family, they are from Fauquier Co and Stafford Co, VA. We are distance, and from different branch of the family. If it would help, go to your library and ask them if they have the HeritageQuest Online. If they do, get a library card then you can go on line and use Heritage Quest free it has has a lot of census, they should be able to help show you how to use it. What is nice you can use it from home on your computer and can stay on as long as you like. Don't have to share the computer and be timed at a library. You log on put your library card # in along with the library name and it comes up. YOu go into Finditva.com, sign in with library name and card #, then click on Heritage at the bottom, up will come a selection Census, Books, etc. Good Luck
