Death Record from the State VA

Since your Albert Lake died in 1928 you should be able to get an official death record from the State of VA. Have you applied for that record ?

You could ask my cousin to look the phone number up on cemetery Mt. Hebron. I do not know if they required burials to file a death certificate with them or not. Required in the State of MD/Baltimore City & Co.
