Ruth, Austin Ford and Jane (Allison) was the father and mother-in-law to my gg-aunt Mary Ann (Bruin) Ford. I have Austin b. 1790, Fauquier Co., VA., m. Jane 1817 or 1818. Austin Ford met his wife, Jan, while he was serving in the military and was active in campaigns against the Indians. Jane was born in Florida in 1794. Austin returned to Fauquier County after his marriage ad practiced his trade as a stone mason. They had the following children: James Thomas Ford (born 1820), John W. Ford, Lucella Ford, Charles Ford , b. 1828, Elizabeth Ford, Mary Jane Ford, William H. Ford, Arthur F. Ford (died 1885), Robert A. Ford, born March 13, 1840. In 1840, Austin took his family from VA to Clark County, Missouri, where he managed a large farm for a man named Lee. In July of 1841, Ford was killed from a blow to the head in an altercation with Lee. James Thomas Ford m. Mary Ann Bruin on Aug 10, 1840, Fauquier Co., VA. James and Mary Ann were the parents of Charles Wilson Ford (b. July 9, 1857, and Robert Newton Ford (b. Jan 31, 1862, and other children. Robert is the one that shot the Jesse James and Charles was in on it. I have a little backround on some of the others if you are interested.
