Fauquier Co. VA Land Deeds Book 36, probated date 19 Mar 1831--Your Wm. Green was in debt and uses as collateral to secure his debts the estate of his wife from Thomas Harris.

I think you will find more information about him in the earlier land deeds. The records are full of the surname Green and I have no idea if your family or not.

You might have to check out Stafford & Culpeper counties for his family.

Mrs. Frances C. Grifflin
1313 Butts Station Road
Chesapeake, VA 23320

sells various pamphlets dealing with VA families, one is for Green, also has Harris, cost for each $9.00

I do not know if your Wm. Green was a member of the early Green family who left Great Britain and was a partner with my Robert MacKay & J. Hite who settled the Shenandoah Valley in 1734.
