I am looking for the first wife of Alexander Scott who was listed in Fauquier as well as Rappahannock Co in 1850, age 67. He was married about 1822 to Mary or Mariam Whalon/Whaling/Whalen, daughter of William Whalen in Rappahannock Co., They had seven children. William, Susan, Thomas, Frances, Amanda, Mary M. and Aaron. Eventually all the children moved to Illinois by 1860.
There was an older son John Scott who was close to the same age as his stepmother..b. 1809 to Alexander and his first wife. I need to find out who this first wife was. Could it have been Elizabeth Blackwell. If so I have a few more generations of Alexander's ancestry. But he also seems to be tied to a William Scott family in Rappahannock Co. Brother? William Scott's father was Spencer Scott of Fauquier Co. If any of this looks familiar to you I would love to exchange info.
