Robert Gilliland married Martha and their son James Thomas Gilliland b. 1849 married Susan Josephine Shipp daughter of Mary Cole and Robert Shipp. I am searching for the parents of Robert Gilliland and Martha who I believe had the maiden name of Hughes. I have not been able to move any further back on the Gilliland's who I believe came to Va. from either Ohio or Pennsylvania. Any help would be appreciated.
