Looking for anyone researching the Edwards family that lived in Halifax Co., VA in the 1700's. Charles Edwards died there in 1790. He married 1st Mary Ann Daniels and had 3 children; second married Letty Martin and had five children. This family owned a large estate that was in both Halifax Co, VA and Granville Co, NC. I suspect that Charles was in the area prior to his marriage to the widow Letty Martin Wade in 1779 but have been unable to locate his parents. We know, from Charles' will, that he had a brother, Thomas. He may be the Charles that was born 26 Jan 1726/7 mentioned in the St. Peter's Parish Register (New Kent Co, VA)as the son of a Thomas Edwards (no proof of that, however). I find the names of William and John Edwards in various deeds in Halifax Co. during this time frame but do not know if they are related to Charles or not. Any information would be greatly appreciated!
