Sherry,

Indeed there is a relationship between the Carroll's and the Farrar's. John Carroll was a farmer who lived in the Fabers Mill area of Virginia, which is located about one third of the way between Charlottesville and Lynchburg just off Virginia Route 29. I did not find any records to indicate that John and Sarah (Sally) owned the land they farmed. After John's death, however, Sally inherited land from her father, James Joppling, when he died in 1829. This land was located on the Rockfish River and Green Creek in Nelson County.

Their marriage produced 9 children, 7 daughters and two sons. Nancy Carroll was the 9th child of John and Sarah (Jopling) Carroll. Nancy was born in 1790 and married John Farrar on October 17, 1820.
