hi we are participating in the harris dna project. our ancestors, my william harris, sr/ jr, who obtained grants in laurens co, sc ca 1770 and who moved there from luneburg co, va are an exact match with edward harris, sr also of lunenburg/ charlotte co, va whose sons stephen harris and edward harris, jr also moved to laurens co, sc. however, my research indicates that my william harris, sr, who married my frances goode ca 1745 va, daughter of mackerness goode, was the son of william harris/ judith hudson also of lunenburg co, va. this bluestone creek area where both my william harris/ frances goode and my william harris/ judith hudson lived became in 1765 mecklenburg co, va and my william harris/ judith hudson died there in mecklenburg co, va in 1778. i am trying to locate another harris descendant of my william harris/ judith hudson to also participate in the harris dna project. i am also interested in these connections re this william hudson and james poole and if someone knows more about them, i would be glad to hear from you. per info on the poole/ pettypool family, james poole is stated to have married ursula hudson, daughter of william hudson in 1782 in mecklenburg co, va. i am also interested in identifying this william hudson as i believe that he was one of the executors of my william harris/ judith hudson's 1778 mecklenburg co, va will. James Pool, possible son of Peter[4] and Elizabeth Pettypool, of Laurens County, South Carolina. Also in Laurens County (1829) was another possible son of Peter Pettypool, namely James Pool, Revolutionary War soldier from Mecklenburg County, Virginia. According to his Revolutionary War pension application, James was born 5 April 1746 (or 1756) in Brunswick County, Virginia, and died 29 July 1839 in Laurens County, South Carolina. He married 07/11/1782 Mecklenburg County, Virginia, to Ursula Hudson, daughter of William Hudson of Laurens County (25). this deed cited in the info on the poole/ pettypoole family can be found in laurens co, sc deed book J, page 146: 1809 November 28, Wm. Hudson to son-in-law James Pool & my daughter Ursula Pool, son-in-law Wm Wilbon & my daughter Cary, son-in-law Jeremiah Wilbon & my daughter Polly of Edgefield District- Deed of Gift, two tracts on Beaverdam Creek of Reedy River, bounded south on Allen Mitchell, east on John Taylor, north on John Lyles, west on Thos.
