COLUMBIA CO., GEORGIA Early Deed & Will Abstracts Book "A" pg 141 states: "LAMKIN, James s/July 24 1788. p/July 9 1791. Beloved wife Winnifret, sons George, Cliophas and James, to have the tract in Mecklenberg County, VA. Exrs. wife and son George. Witness: John Shackleford and John Dixon." I do not have access to deed books from Mecklenburg Co., VA. Can anyone tell me what happened to this land? Was it sold by heirs? If so, which ones and when? How did the transfer deed read? Any help would be appreciated!
