Thanks for reply , Tom. That isn't my Joseph Adam Young. Mine turns up in Preston Co.,WV and married Nancy Elizabeth Teets at age 21. He lived there the rest of his life. I have checked Federal census records for 1850 and 1860 without finding any trace of him or his parents, yet his marriage and death records both list his birth place as Sutton, Braxton Co. WV in 1850 and his parents as C.H. and Agnes Young. We all know that at that time it would have been VA. We feel that the C. is probably Charles as Joseph gave one of his sons that name. This has been a brick wall for us for several years now. I will see if I can find a Braxton Historical Society.
