Biographies of Arkansas Congressman, Thomas Montague Gunter said that his wife, Jennie Bragg was a "relative" of General Braxton Bragg; -this would have been a "distant relative" - as it was his Grandfather (John) that was Virginia born, so her Grandfather and John may have been brothers.... She was Jane C. (perhaps Catherine) "Jennie" Bragg Gunter from Charles Town Virginia (now WV) m. Thomas abt 1859. Jane "Jennie" is probably the daughter of Charles G. Bragg of Charles Town (listed with him in the 1850 census). Charles G. had come from the southern Virginia Bragg family -moving to Charles Town sometime between 1820 - 1830. He was a Veteran of the War of 1812 - 41 Reg't (Bramham's) Virginia Militia; Kemper's Detachment. He resided in Front Royal Virginia in 1820, as did a John Bragg and Thomas Bragg - all with their young families.
