I am looking for any information about a W.J.Holland or Waverly James Holland who lived in Hawkins, Wood county Texas between 1890-1916. I have had the hardest time finding any information on him prior 1890. On the census it shows he was born in Georgia round 1853. His father was born in Georgia and his mother was born in Virginia. I have tried to find his death certificate, but with no luck. I really am getting tired because it seems as though he just fell off the face of the earth before 1880 and after 1915. What I do know is he shows marriage records in Wood county texas starting late 1890's and I also have probate records with his name around 1913. I'm sure he died after 1913, but I can't find the death records. He also is African-American so If someone family has records showing ownership of slaves with a slave name of Waverly or W.J. it could narrow down where he might have been around the 1870-1890 area. Whatever help researchers could provide would be greatly appreciated.
