I hope to learn the identity of William Cannon and his wife Mildred, who sold 70 acres of land in Amelia Co., Virginia, on 22 May 1755 to William Booker, patented by William Cannon on 12 Jan 1746 on the upper side of Flat Creek. William Booker may be the one who married Mary Flournoy in 1755; however, the deed says that Booker’s wife was also Mildred. Perhaps this was an error, or perhaps there was more than one William Booker in Amelia Co., VA, at this time. The deed mentions Robert Vaughn’s line. No witnesses. Deed Book 5, page 293.
Was this William Cannon the same one who bought land from Benjamin Hawkins (wife Mary)? Deed Book 5, page 138, 25 Apr 1754, 170 acres on the branches of Saylors Creek, granted to John Cogson???[name smeared] by Patent and by him to Benjamin Hawkins. Mentions John Elam’s line. No witnesses.
