J.W. (James) Bond appears in the 1850 Orange County, VA., census as an overseer at the age of 22. He married in January 1856 in Madison County, Tennessee. I am his descendant and am trying to determine his lineage. There are no families named Bond in the 1820 or 1830 census for Orange County, VA. Here is a age based list of all of the Bond's listed in the 1850 Census:
From the 1850 census for Orange County Virginia, I see the following -
Thomas Bond, age 55, born about 1795,Blacksmith
John Bond, age 33 born about 1817 lumber business
cannot read/write
Elizabeth Bond age 30 born about 1820
lives in same house as Thomas Bond
William Bond age 25 born about 1825 Overseer
Thomas W. Bond age 25 born about 1825 Overseer
Pamela Bond age 24 born about 1826
James W. Bond age 22 born about 1828 Overseer
There is some writing about the Smith family in West Tennessee which notes that one of J.W. Bond's daughters, Izora, who married a Smith, traced her family to the Bond and Daniels families of Virginia.
Does anyone know anything about this group of Bond family members and/or any connection to the Daniel or Daniels family?
