Dear Paula:
I read in a privately published book that I found in the Mormon database that Vagt is a corruption of a Dutch name, van Vaaght. I also heard that from my Dad. Thus, there aren't really too many Vagts in Germany (or anywhere else for that matter) because it's actually a made up name. Vogt is the one you can finds lots of in Germany. I strongly doubt there are any unknown Vagts wandering around from our runt of a family tree because our Vagts weren't too enthusiastic about reproducing. But I just thought I'd ask.
