Thelma Armada Valentine

Thelma Armada Valentine, daughter of the late W.E. and Virgie Mounce Vails, was born in Holcomb on Feb. 15, 1917, and died at the Cypress Point Healthcare facility in Dexter on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006, at the age of 89.
Mrs. Valentine was a homemaker and had lived in the Bernie and Dexter areas most of her life. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
On April 29, 1939, she was married to Raymond Valentine. He preceded her in death on Nov. 26, 1994.
Surviving are four brothers, Roy Vails of Oxford, Miss., George Vails of Puxico, Charles Vails of Dexter, and Franklin Vails of Campbell; four sisters, Eula Owens of Bernie, Edith Gregory of Dexter, Lola Thomas of Stuartdraft, Va., and Nadine Donalson of Machesney Park, Ill.
She was preceded in death by one brother, Harley Vails; and two sisters, Maxine Lester and Joyce Arnold.
Visitation was held after 9 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2006, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.
Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 31, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter with Rev. Roger Wooten of Dexter officiating.
Interment followed in the Bernie Cemetery with Watkins & Sons Funeral Home of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
