Vail branch in Pleasant Valley, Dutchess Co. NY

I just found my 3rd, 4th, and 5th great grandfathers on the Heritage Quest site in the "Index of Alfred Vail". They are Elihu Vail, John Vail, and Nehemiah Vail. I don't have any dates on Nehemiah except he appears on the 1790 census with the "Veal" spelling. John was born abt. 1764 and died April 5, 1832. Elihu was born March 15, 1785 and died March 5, 1856. Elihu's son Edward, b. March 15, 1816 is my 2nd great grandfather. The line goes down to Percy Eugene Vail, b. 1867, Percy Edward Vail, b. 1897, and lastly my father Raymond Edward Vail, b. 1920. These are all Dutchess County people. Nehemiah supposedly moved to Canada with his second wive. Can anyone with knowledge of this line help me trace Nehemiah back to the original immigrant? Does anyone know where the Index of Alfred Vail is housed?
