Hi James,
Most of my Vailes family lived in Grant Co. Ark. and alot of them are still there. My gggrandfather John W. Vailes was born in Ark. on Dec. 26,1856 and I was just wondering if maybe he had a brother. I have had a hard time finding out anything about him but he had three sons--William Andrew (my ggrandfather), J.P.(Pearl), and James(Jim). Uncle Jim was not born until Feb. 16,1891, but I wonder if he may have been named for an uncle. I will keep an eye out for your James Edward Vales though. Interesting though that your James and my John were born abt. a year apart and lived in the same county. There must be a connection.
