As a son of Robert, Francois married twice. With his second wife, their oldest son Andre is my ancester. Andre married Marie-Francoise Bayard and they has their only son Francois. Andre & Marie-Francoise's second oldest son Jean-Baptiste moved to an island located between Quebec and Ontario on the Ottawa River known as Allumette Island. He married Felicite Demers and had 11 children. There son Joseph married Adelaide Gauthier. They had 14 children, but the eldest, also Joseph received the nickname Josephat married Adeline Laverdure from Pembroke, Ontario. This couple had 12 children, one of which is my grandfather, Romeo Vaillancourt. The roots of this line of Vaillancourt remain in the Ottawa Valley and up to North Bay, Ontario. I justed wanted to state that there are still many Vaillancourt in Canada though a large line of them crossed to the US.
