George Vair emigrated from Scotland to Portage County, Ohio, in 1837. Accompanying him were his wife Mary (Lowrie) Vair and several members of her family. George and Mary had a son Alexander born in Scotland in 1835, a daughter Christina born July 3, 1837 (at sea on the immigration trip), and a son James born in 1842.
I'm researching the descendants of George and Mary Vair. His daughter Christina was my gr gr grandmother.
