Hi Bill: Nellie Hunter does not ring a bell.I have now been able to find out that a James Vair was born in Scotland in 1794. He came to New Brunswick prior to 1821 as my gg grandfather was born in New Brunswick in that year.So my family of Vairs in New Brunswick are descendants of this James Vair. His wife's name was Annie ?. She was born in Ireland cira 1804.James Vair died in New Brunswick 1858. His son James, who was born in 1821, died in 1910. Only one of his sons remained in New Brunswick and that was my grandfather (Walter Vair). Only one of his sons had children and that was my dad. He only had one son (me) and I have one son and one grandson. I still have more research to do on this James Vair. When he came to Canada? Where from Scotland did he come from? What was his wife's full name etc? Thanks for your interest.
