I received an 1860 birth certificate yesterday from San Giorio, Italy. The mother's name (maiden) is listed as Maria Luigia VAIR. I noticed that all the references to this forum are from England/Scotland. I thought it might be a mistake, but when I checked www.paginebianche.it (the Italian white pages), there are at least 6 references to this name in the Torino region. Maria Luigia was the daughter of Francesco, and was married to Gionni or Giovanni DURANDETTI/O. Does anyone have any links to this name in Italy? Thanks!
