Hello Katherine, it was interesting to read about your Vairs, they are my Vairs! They are my mother's relatives and I can trace them directly from Melrose, Selkirk and the Borders area to Barrie Ontario, where they arrive in the mid 1800's and became prosperous merchants. I will have to dig out all the things I have on them. I went at this in a lot of detail about 10 years ago and then put it aside. I am now retired and have taken it up again. What other information do you have. I am located in Peterborough Ontario.
