I see in your response you mention Mary Townley. Isn't she very famous and related (perhaps back somewhere) to George Washington's father, or to his half brother, Lawrence? Doesn't she have quite an ancestry line with many important people including Queen Elizabeth I?
I have the Shoemaker books. After Laurens, we follow Major Thomas; Captain Michael, Isaac (in the Revolutionary War), his son Isaac, to John Stillwell VB, to Jessie VB, her daughter Jessie VanBuskirk my great grandmother, my grandmother, Flossie Runyan in Indiana, and her daughter, E.Pauline Brown who married R. Potter, and subsequently had my sister and myself, Nancy and Cynthia - we're in the books p. 1344 I believe.
I just put up a site - to add in my children. Whatever information you have here would be interesting to know. I was brought up thinking I was related through the relationship you mention, to George Washington or his half brother.

I'd love to hear back. Thank you.
