Henry Decatur Vandercook
I amtrying to find complete vital data and family connections for Henry Decatur Vandercook, born 10 August, 1831 in New York. He married Susan BUCK, born 10 April, 1832 in PA, on 28 December, 1851. H.D. Vandercook, wife Susan and three of their their four children (daughter Francis, son Levi E. and daughter Clara) can be found enumerated in the 1880 US Census for the 3rd Ward, Sacramento, Sacramento Co., CA. Henry's occupation is given as carpenter. Another daughter, Susan Elma Maria Vandercook, born in 1859, had been married to J. H. PIETNEY since 1874. All four of H.D. and Susan's children were born in Ann Arbor, Washtenaw Co., MI. According to what I have thus far been able to discover, Henry D. Vandercook also owned a large lumber planing mill in Sacramento. Although I have had some success in identifying a great many Michigan connected VanDerCooks, this fellow has me thoroughly confused. Any ideas?
