Samuel Vanneman's wife is reported as Margaretta Cock.
Garret Jansen Vanneman's first wife's name has not been determined, but there are indications that she was Margaret Peterson (daughter of Lucas Peterson) who was first married to Michael Lacroy Jr.Most reports indicate that she had remarried to Joshua Gillet and then Didlou Casperson, however, a court case in 1791 proves that the Margaret who married Gillet and Casperson was the daughter of Michael Lacroy Jr. and not his widow.
It is certain that Garret's second wife was Margaret Johnson, widow of Herman Johnson (Jr.).
Garret was the elder son of the immigrant Jan Gerritszen van Imman, born around 1655, likely prior to being sent to the South River.
