Dear Jackie,
the Bushnell Cem. info I have isn't from IGI, it's from a transcription of the graves [1 is missing from that book] and a visit to the site [a very kind woman who lives near there went & took pics for me].
John: died 1869age 80y
Lydia: w/o John died 1871age 79y
not in the cem. book but at the yard is also a Daniel Vangilder 's/o J&L' d. Aug 28, 1819, age 18 yrs,1m 26d... this date would mean he could not poss. be the child of the above J & L nbut the woman who went to the Cem. says she and another woman are certain that that is what the marker says.
Also at the yeard are a numer of Johnsons including Uriah d. 1849 ae 79y [I believe this is Zeruah's husband] and a child, Isaac Johnsons/o U. & Z. died 1821age 4y 7m.
Because Bushnell is a small cemetery it does, in my mind, add weight to the IGI info naming Zeruah as Van Gilder [or Vangilder] though I would hardly say it proves it. What I have to 'place' Zeruah's birth in NJ is: 1850 & 1860 census, DeKalb Co. IN... and, of course, the IGI.
The above John is also listed on the 1850 Ashland Co, OH census as from PA age 63, farmer, with his wife Lydia and 3 dau.
April
