Linda:
I have some information on the family, no real proof , but I think Hiram is the son of John and Ann who were listed a few doors above Hiram on the 1850 census. They were also in Brighton Livingston Co. MI. in 1840, and a son listed that could be Hiram, at least in the right age grouping. And he was perhaps the John V Vanleuven in Marbletown Ulster Co in 1830, with an older child that Hiram. Or perhaps John is living with the widow Van Leuven age 60-70,with a large family, with several young children. No doubt the family is from the Marbletown Van Leuvens, perhaps from Christopher or Gilbert?? My family removed to Canada in the late 1780s , and I have not yet worked on allthe familes that stayed in New York after that time. But am at it, a little at a time. Do you have any clues that could help in the matter?Howard Boswell
