I an a descendent of the Lewiston, Niagara region Van Luven's. (my grandfather married a Van Luven in Lewiston) My search to where in Canada they have come from has bewildered me. You may hold the key. Can you share with me what you've discovered. I believe my line is descended from Levi Van Luven and Jane Laycock. Lay (Levi) VanLuven(b. 1836 in Loughborough, Portland, Ontario, CAN– d.Lewiston, NY) and Jane Lacock (b. 1840 Loughborough, Portland, Ontario, CAN - d.?) I have a photo of Jane Laycock.
Niagara County Records show that my G.G. grandfather, William Van Luven William Sr. (b. 24 Dec 1856 -. 16 Jan 1945) is listed as a native of Canada who came with his parents to Lewiston when he was 8 years old.I believe his father was Levi but can't confirm.
Geneology records show Levi's father was David Pulver Van Luven , born 1811 however, I'm struggling to connect the dots and confirm it all.Can you help? Thank You so much.
