Thomas Vaughan & children Greensville Co, VA Deed 1814

This appears to be Thomas, son of Pierce Faithea Vaughan. Any information on how he may be related to Hartwell Vaughn would be appreciated. Hartwell was born in Greensville Co, VA, then later moved to Union County SC and then on to Cherokee Co, Al.

This Indenture made this third Day of August 1814 between Thomas Vaughan of the County of Greensville of the one part and Nancy H. Vaughan, Pierce Vaughan, Betsy P. Vaughan, William Vaughan, Sally P. Vaughan & Ephriam T Vaughan of the other part. Witnesseth that the said Thomas Vaughan as well for and in Consideration of the natural Love and affections which he hath and bears for his Children the said Nancy H. Pierce Betsy P. William Sally P. and Ephraim T. Vaughan as of one Dollar Current money of Virginia to him in hand paid by the said Nancy H. Pierce Betsy P. William Sally P. and Ephraim T. Vaughan at or before the sealing and delivery of these presents, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledge hath given granted sold and confirmed and by these presents doth give grant sell and Confirm unto the said Nancy H. Pierce, Betsy P, William, Sally P. and Ephraim T Vaughan their heirs and assigns forever the following property to wit one Negro Man named Daniel, one bay Horse, one yoke work Steers ten head of cattle, my stock of hogs, six feather beds, steads and furniture, the residue of my household and kitchen furniture, poultry of all kinds, & my Crop of Wheat, oats, & Corn __ & my plantation utensils to have and to hold the said Slave Daniel & all the aforesaid enumerated property to them and their heirs & assigns forever. The aforesaid Daniel is intended to be given to my two youngest Sons only, to wit William and Ephraim T & the survivor of them to them & their heirs __ but the said William & Ephraim T is also to be entitled to an equal distribution part of my above property with my other children to the only proper use and behalf of them & their heirs & assigns forever and the said Thomas Vaughan for himself and his heirs doth covenant

promise and agree to and with the aforesaid Nancy H. Pierce, Betsy P. William Sally P. and Ephraim T. Vaughan and their heirs and assigns that he the said Thomas Vaughan and his heirs the said slave Daniel & other property as aforesaid enumerated unto them their heirs and assigns against the Claim of the said Thomas Vaughan, & his heirs and all other persons whomsoever shall and will by these presents warrant and ever Defend. In Witness whereof the said Thomas Vaughan hath hereunto set this hand and affixed his Seal the day and year above written.
