Jerry Lee McMillan Vaughan, 73, of Galax, VA, passed away
Wednesday, April 15, 2009 at her home. Mrs. Vaughan was
born in Fries, VA, on February 13, 1936, to Alfred and
Jean Carter McMillan.
Jerry was a RN and so proud to be a part of the nursing
profession. She retired from Martin-Marietta Y-12 plant in
Oak Ridge, Tennessee. She was a member of the First United
Methodist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Ralph 'Boomy' Vaughan of
Galax, VA; daughter and son-in-law, Lee and William Hunter
of Tazewell, VA; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Susie
Vaughan of Knoxville, TN; sister, Christine McMillan of
Fries, VA; grandchildren, Polly, Tori, Will, Tayloe, and
Campbell Hunter, and Jack and Matthew Vaughan.
The family will receive friends Friday, April 17, 2009,
from 1 p.m., until service time at Vaughan-Guynn Funeral
Home.
The funeral service will be held Friday, April 17, 2009,
at 2 p.m., in Vaughan-Guynn Chapel with Rev. Walt
Simmerman officiating.
Burial will follow in the Fries Cemetery.
Flowers will be appreciated or donations may be made to
the American Diabetes Association or to the Galax First
