Has anyone looked at the actual records on Robert Vaughan which have Thomas and Elizabeth Jones as witnesses? I know there was apparently a Thomas Jones in the area but on two of the tax lists there is a Thomas Jane/Jean. In 1750 (in order) Thomas Jean, Henry Walthal, Elizabeth Anderson, Robert Vaughan. In 1751(in order) Thomas Jane, Will Walthal, Henry Walthal, Wm Burton, Geo Elliott, Robert Vaughan. In 1747 there is a Thomas Jain (or could be Pain?) in the same area and in 1737 there is a Thomas Janes or Jones who is two houses away from Elizabeth Anderson. In some of the road orders I notice a Thomas "Jones" listed in the same orders as the Andersons. One says where he "formerly lived" and Thomas Jean/Jane had disappeared from tax lists at that time. So, I'm wondering if anyone had seen a document that could be Janes instead of Jones. Thanks for any help, I have no further info on this Thomas other than the tax lists stated above. A Janes family was in Nelson County KY a little later and they are beside a family of Belchers and a Zephaniah Bell. There were Belchers in the same tax lists in Amelia as Thomas Jean and Robert Vaughan and there is a Zephaniah Bell in the road orders. Renee Newman Notify Administrator about this message?
