A long time ago, I put a message on this board that my grandfather, William "Bill" Vaughn, had originated from France. I don't believe that is the case now. I recently viewed the 1930 Census, which says he was born in the United States, but it does not say where. He did marry my grandmother, Jennie, whose previous married name and maiden name, I do not know. But, by viewing that census report, I found out that my grandma Jennie was born in Texas, and that her father was born in Kentucky, and her mother was born in Texas. They had two girls, Laquita and Loreta Rose, who was my mother. My mother married Frank Artist Woods. I seem to recall that my Aunt Laquita's first husband was Tom Hughes, who was many years older than Aunt Laquita. After he died, she later married a Jack Allred from Tecumseh. I am searching for information regarding my grandparents, William "Bill" Vaughn and Jennie, and my Aunt Laquita. The last time I talked to her was many years ago after my mother passed, and I don't know whether she is still alive, remarried, or whether she has passed. I know absolutely nothing about my mother's family, but I see there is an endless amount of Vaughans/Vaughns out there, as there are Woods' people on my dad's side of the family.
