My ggggg-gandfather William CHILDRESS (Rev War Vet) named William VAUGHN as his grandfather who lived in 96th District of SC. William Childress married Charity CHARROON in 1784 in Buckingham Co VA
Moved to White Co TN in 1825 and died 1839 in Dekalb Co TN.
I think William VAUGHN was in SC in 1777/78. Probably before and after these dates.
If you have any info on William VAUGHN and his Grandson William CHILDRESS I would love to share with you.
I do not know the name of William Childress's parents.
