Dear Julia--
I think I have a clue. One of my ancestors, THOMAS GILES, who married MARGARET CHALKER in Kent in 1665 & then returned to Merrymeeting Bay, Pemaquid, Maine, to live permanently after settling the financial affairs of his inheritance in Kent, was a "warrener" in Kent. This means he was in charge of the Royal game preserves (rabbits, fish, other game) for the King.Since this family married into the VERY family, perhaps some of the VERYs were also "warreners".Interesting dream!!
