Hi Alton,
I am interested in your research for a whole bunch of reasons:
1. I descend from William White/Mayflower
2. My husband descends from Baron Robert de Vere (and as you probably well know, then through a whole host of Barons, Monarchs, and Knights).
3. The y-nda haplotype of your More line, if known.
I believe that there may be a connection between Edward Winslow(stepfather of my ancestor Resolved White), Thomas More, and Richard Warren, all Mayflower passengers. I further believe that their relationship could be on the de Warenne line. So that is one great area of interest to me.If you have any additional thoughts due to your research on these lines, I would be interested. So finding a common connection between these foks (and I believe Oliver Cromwell as well), would be quite exciting.
Next, do you have or have you see/heard about the Douglas Richardson books Plantagenet Ancestry, and the Magna Charta Barons? Through these books and a LOT of research here in America, I have proven my husband's lineage back to Charlemagne. The one Baron that was a puzzle to me was how my husband's gateway ancestor to Chelmsford/MA/America in 1635, Olive Welby, descended to Robert de Vere?
I believe that I have found the link. On the LaZouch line (through William Longespee), one Ellen La Zouche married Alan de Cherlton and through this line, then down to Robert Charlton who married Mary Corbet, to Richard Charlton who married Elizabeth Mainwaring. Elizabeth was the daughter of a Margaret Warren, who married Griffin Warren born probably around 1400 who was the son of William de Warenne and Joan de Vere.If you have any information due to your research on the children of Joan de Vere, I would also be deeply appreciative.
Regards,
Donna Crosby
