LCpl Richard Huntoon (USMC) was one of 15 men killed on May 12, 1966 including their Navy Corpsman in a fierce firefight. He was attached to Bravo Company, 1st Battalion, 9th Marine Regiment of the 3rd Marine Division.

The 1/9 Marines were responsible for securing an area just outside of Danang called 'Hill 55' during early 1966, and were making daily contact.....with large casualties on both sides. Hope this helps.
