Interesting. I was also from Ft Madison, IA...the home of the penitentary in the '50's. Pvt Gary Lewis was one of 5 men killed on 9/13/68 with Charlie Company, 4th Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment of the 173rd Division in Quang Duc Province next to the Cambodian border. You may want to check with men from 4/503 at http://www.173rdairborne.com/menu.htm to see if they remember him and have some pictures.
