VIOLETTE, Thomas 1864 ME
I am searching for the Violette Family who lived in Van Buren, Aroostook County, Maine. My great grandfather was TOM VIOLETTE who died in a logging accident in Montana in 1925.On his death certificate, his parents were listed as Cyrille Violette, father and Flavie Lizotte, mother. His birthdate was Feb 1864.I searched the US census records and found two Cyrille Violette's each with a wife Flavie.Different children. No Tom or Thomas. There was a Theophile (son) listed.Could this be a name from which Tom or Thomas can be taken from or comomonly translated into?Help with family is greatly appreciated.Has anyone done a genealogy gathering of this surname found in this county. The number of Violette's is extensive and probably all related...probably all my relatives.I gather they were French-Canadian and that Van Buren may have actually been part of Canada at an earlier time.
