Thanks for your nice words, but the FUN has been MINE!!I loved the research and helping others.I think that the most enjoyment of this wonderful hobby is helping others. Each person comes to a particular line with different female lines and sometimes it is with their help that we can solve things. We learn so much more than names and places----early history of this country (and sometimes of other countries), customs (and laws & happenings) throughout the ages, geography and many other fascinating things as well asand finding a number of wonderful "cousins and other relations" we would otherwise never known.
If anyone is interested in my VIRGIN research, they can see all the family charts at the Greenup Co., KY Public Library.I also sent my book showing all of the information that I have unearthed about the first three generations of the John VIRGIN (1) of Pr. Georges Co., MD and the children of each generation through the 4th generation (complete with the references to each item shown) from my following book which has been sent to various libraries across the country and to the FHL (Family History Library---Mormon) in Salt Lake City, UT:
"Revised CHRONOLOGICAL LISTINGS of the Records of the First Three Generations of the John VIRGIN Family of Maryland, Pennsylvania & Points West and Miscellaneous Early Amiercan VIRGIN Families (by State of Residence)"
How's that for a title????It is done in two parts and I have placed copies in the following libraries across the country---in addition to the FHL shown above:
Kentucky Genealogical Society, Frankfort, KY
Greenup Co., KY Public Library, Greenup, KY
Allen County (IN) Public Library, Ft. Wayne, IN
Sutro Library, San Francisco, CA
Ohio Historical Society Archives & Library, Columbus, OH
St. Clair Co., IL Genealogical Society, Belleville, IL
Washington Co. Historical Society & Library, LeMoyne House,
Washington, PA
Kentucky State Library & Archives, Frankfort, KY
West Virginia State Archives & History Library, Charleston,
WV
I hope that each of you will add your information in books that you write so that future researchers can get the help.
When you write up your family, be sure to back up each item that you claim with the reference thereto as I have done.
Good luck with your search. We all need plenty of it!!!!
Warmly, Dolores Rutherford in California
