Actually my direct line is Helms. But my Chamness go back off of my paternal grandfathers line. My Votaws is my paternal Grandmothes line. It seems as though a lot of their people jumped all over the tree together. I have that a Sarah Cole married a Andy Chamness he was born in England. He came to America when he was 5 years old. They were bound into a Quaker family. My 3 times Great Granmother is Sarah Elma Rich b about 1833 (these are her ancestors). She married a Milton Cox. It does say in my documents that Sarah Cole and Andy Chamness had 13 children and one of them was a Joseph that married a Margaret Norton.
There is a good chance though that your Emma E Votaw connects to my Votaws also. I descend there from Isaac Votaw 1744 Loudon Co.,Va that married a Ann Smith. I have some info on my Helms site that is password protected. If you would like an invite e-mail me at [email protected] .
I have the siblings with there spouses on most of my Votaws but I am working on the childrens children. Do you know if the Votaws that you are looking for were Quaker?
If so I might be able to get the info you seek even faster.
