Thank you for the census print offer, but in the meantime, I had gone to the local library which has Ancestry online and found it. However, you gave me some things to think about.
I still need some sort of marriage record in order to say that this Sophia is the one I am looking for. She is looking good, but I need a confirmation.
Joseph, Sophia, and the their 2 kids ended up in Waterbury by the 1870 census, Sophia died, and Joseph remarried. They all lived in Waterbury and died there. My grandpa is the last child of Joseph and Sophia's daughter, Mary Ann.
I will pursue some of your suggestions. I will be lucky enough to take my mom to VT in about 3 weeks so I may have a few minutes to do some checking around locally. (I live in the Pacific Northwest so it is not likely for me just to jaunt on over there!)
Thanks for the help!
