Hi Charlene,
The CIVIL WAR started in 1861, abt. 3 years after Jacob was born. Could Jacob's father have served in the CIVIL WAR between 1861-1865?
If had they moved to MA by then, have you checked the Massachusetts CIVIL WAR roster?

There are not any FOURNIER vets listed, but there are many FULLER vets. listed as serving from Vermont. They were not my ancestors.
