Hi Ray,
He was mustered in on Sept. 1, 1862 and was discharged on April 20, 1863 for disability.

The first military engagement of the 10th Regiment in the Civil War from Vermont was on Nov. 27, 1863, in Orange Grove, VA [Virginia] after he was discharged.
