You should order his whole pension file from the Natl Archives. Surely there is more than one page. I have ordered several CW pensions in the past and they have always been very interesting. They often contain affidavits from fellow soldiers or family members. They sometimes list children and wives. They sometimes give places of birth. If you need the web address (to order records) I will get it for you. You should also get his death record. That would be the first place to look (along with marriage records) for his parents names. An obit might tell you if he had surviving siblings. Sometimes researching a sibling will be an easier path to discovering the parents. I don't have any of those records (not a Mosher descendant), but you can probably post to the Maryland forum asking general questions on how to obtain death records from that area. All I know about his wife is what I see on all the census records for him. Notify Administrator about this message?
